Its funny how life goes sometimes. One day I was searching different blogs and stumbled upon a post that had a story I was interested in. I flagged this blog and followed this person's writing for a while. Saw this individual was pregnant with twins and just kept on reading. About 2 or 3 months into this women's pregnancy my husband and I decided we wanted to start our family. I had no idea that I would become a MOM!!
I'm going to try to link up with other MOMs to share my story You Just Wait Til You Have Kids
We found out at 8 weeks that we were blessed beyond our original thoughts with the discover of twins. We were excited and nervous all at once. At about 17 weeks we found out it was a girl and a boy but we also discovered a problem that we weren't prepared for. Up to this point my pregnancy was going along with no issues. The twins started off measuring at the same size at my first ultra sound just a little smaller. My first ultra sound I thought I was 8 weeks but they measured 6 almost 7. At 17 weeks, the Baby A (girl) was measuring on track but Baby B (boy) was starting to lack. At this time the difference wasn't much just noted in my file and was told I would be watched carefully. 7 weeks later and many ultra sounds later the difference was about 2 to 3 weeks different. This landed me in the hospital where I was watched even closer with an ultra sound everyday and heartbeat checks twice a day.
I was told they were watching to make sure Baby B didn't go into distressed and that his cord was not rejecting my blood. At 29 weeks, Baby B decided he didn't want my blood anymore so out they came.
Alyssa was born 2lbs and 7ozs and Andrew was born 1lb and 14 ozs. Alyssa spent almost 3 months in the NICU and Andrew spent exactly 3 months. In fact he came home on Christmas Day. My husband and I couldn't ask for a better Christmas gift.
We thank God everyday for our little miracles and we can't wait to see what He has planned for them.
